This rare Pennsylvania waterfall photo is of "Table Falls" in the Quehanna Wild Area in the Elk State Forest up on the Allegheny Plateau of northern Pennsylvania.
This unnamed pristine mountain waterfall looks this magnificent only at times of higher water, after a storm event when there is enough flow to go over the main part of the "table". Except for such brief periods, the stream flows only through the deeper slots on the far left and right of the table or, during even lower flows, only the left slot.
This photograph was made on 35mm color negative film in November 1991.
Photo location: Quehanna Wild Area, Elk State Forest, The Pennsylvania Wilds, Elk and Cameron Counties, Pennsylvania.
