View Down the Face, Lower Falls Yellowstone River,
Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming
This waterfalls photo of the Lower Falls of the Yellowstone River was made in 1978, on Kodachrome transparency film.
The rising sun has finally crept above the canyon wall, striking part of the thundering face of the falls as it hurtles over the precipice. Frozen in time, individual water drops are visible, sidelit against the water that is still in shadow behind and beneath.
