Charleston Falls Preserve is in Miami County in southwest Ohio. The preserve, administered by the Miami County Park District, takes its name from the nearby community of West Charleston.
Charleston Falls plunges 37 feet down from the limestone escarpment into a cool shale valley that has been kept relatively undisturbed since white settlement. This outstanding natural area is a treasure for its wooded beauty and serenity.
In this photo, the first measurable snowfall had fallen during the previous night. The rains that had preceded the snow had the waterfall flowing nicely.
