This photo of an aspen grove in gorgeous autumn colors was made in October of 1981 in the San Juan Mountains of southwest Colorado.
Fall is the time of harvest, of preparing for yet another winter, of reaping the gains of the growing season and settling down for deep snows until yet another spring brings rebirth and continued growth.
This photograph attempst to capture the glorious high country light of autumn. Light that somehow wraps around the aspen trunks in a most beguiling manner. Some mysteries are better left unexplained. Better to enjoy, in rapture.
