Golden yellow-orange sugar maple leaves glow in the brilliant sunlight of a perfect October afternoon.
I work my way underneath this tree, gawking upward, only slightly amazed that I'm still amazed at the wonders of nature in her autumn glory. How many maples have I viewed this way? Which were the best? Does it matter? Of course not. Discovery is ever mesmerizing. Some of the most familiar and cherished experiences are some of the most fertile ground for realization that we've overlooked far too much.
