Morning sunlight illuminates the bright crimson colors of a red maple tree in its autumn fall foliage glory, in this view looking southeast from the Ash Cave lookout tower in the Hocking Hills region of southeast Ohio. The numerous stands of pine trees in the area provide a deep green counterpoint to the fall colors of the maples, tulip-poplars (tulip-tree), and ash trees.
Publicly accessible but unmarked on the nearby state highway, the Ash Cave lookout tower affords one of the most spectacular views of the lovely Hocking Hills area.
