![]() Sunshine Starburst Through Sugar Maple Leaves, Fall ColorsHocking Hills State Park in southeast Ohio is a favorite place for viewing the fall foliage colors. This photo was made near the parking area of the Rock House unit of the park. In this image, the clear blue October sky provides the backdrop for the glorious oranges, golds and reds of a sugar maple tree in peak color. Shooting directly toward the sun, I used the tree's foliage to tame the overpowering intensity of the direct sun. The leaves and small lens aperture caused a starburst effect, adding a nice focal point to the image.
