Aspen Grove Fall Colors and Sky,
San Juan Mountains, Colorado
A quaking aspen grove in full golden autumn glory is set off against a perfect, deep blue sky in October, somewhere in the San Juan Mountains in southwest Colorado. Staring upward, one doesn't know whether to take in the sky, or the shimmering leaves, rattling on their thin flattened petioles with the slightest of breezes. The sunlight, the high country air; wild places and excited senses. Fall in the Colorado high country is enough to break a mountain man's heart out of pure joy.
