Fall Foliage Colors, Ash Cave Lookout Tower,
Hocking Hills, Ohio
Red maples and sugar maples glow with the fall foliage colors of another glorious autumn, in a panoramic view of the Hocking Hills region of southeast Ohio, as seen from the Ash Cave lookout tower.
This view is to the southwest, from the lookout tower, which is still accessible to the public, although its presence isn't advertised along the nearby state highway. A public parking area and a short easy walk allow the curious explorer to find it.
Nearby are both the Ash Cave and Cedar Falls units of Hocking Hills State Park. This rural area is also near Athens, Ohio, a pleasant college town that is the home of Ohio University. Hiking trails wind through many areas of Hocking Hills State Park and the surrounding state forest land.
