![]() Deer Bed in Frosty Meadow GrassesOn a frosty late November morning, the rising sun highlights the tops of some of the still-green meadow grasses. Frost has formed here and there. The pink blossoms of sweet clover add a touch of added color to the grasses, but they will soon turn brown with the freezing weather. A curved, oblong indentation in the grasses shows where a deer has lain during the night. Which end was its head at? From the nature photo essay: First Frost
