Dory in Salt Marsh Grass, Summer Evening,
The Creeks, Nantucket Island, Massachusetts
This photograph of a dory, or small rowboat, in the salt marsh grass of The Creeks area of Nantucket Harbor was made on a sunny summer evening.
The boat is painted a bright sky blue inside, glowing against the lush green beach grasses. The long evening shadows have enveloped the foreground, while the harbor shines in the background. The inside of the boat reflects the bright sky, complementing the sky above and the water in the distance.
