Sunrise Colors, Easy Street Boat Basin, Nantucket Island, Massachusetts
Sunrise scenery on Nantucket Island, Massachusetts in the summer is exceptional right from the harbor's edge in town. At that time of year the sunrise is far enough north to come up almost straight out from the piers or shoreline right in town.
In this photo shot from the sidewalk on Easy Street (love that name!) several dinghies (small rowboats used to get out to a bigger boat) float on a very calm morning. In the distance at left is one of the Steamship Authority ferry boats loading up for the first run of the day to Cape Cod. Along the right edge of the photo are they cottages and boat houses on Old North Wharf.
