Nantucket's annual Christmas Stroll is a wonderful time to visit the island. The weather can be rough, but that's part of the allure of a small island in the North Atlantic Ocean.
We walked up and down the charming historic streets of downtown. Peering in one shop window on a side street, we were surprised to see two "old salts" playing a game of chess in a dimly lit room. I thought they were wax figures at first, but they weren't. It was almost Currier and Ives come to life.
