Mount St. Helens Crater from the Summit,
North Cascade Mountains
This view from the summit of Mt. St. Helens volcano, looking down into the crater, was made in the summer of 1987. In the near distance, we can see the dome in the crater's center, which periodically becomes active again, spewing steam and ash.
Mt. Adams is in the far distance.
