We had had a wonderful visit to Jackson, Wyoming and Grand Teton National Park. We were driving back through the park on our way to Yellowstone, but this scene made us stop for one last compelling experience.
Oxbow Bend on the Snake River in the park is a favorite for many visitors. Sunsets, wildlife, and of course the grand vista of the Grand Teton mountain range make this spot one of the best from dawn until dusk.
In this image of a perfect October morning, the air is calm and the river reflects the sky, clouds and mountains. The bright yellows, golds and reds of the aspen and cottonwood trees are set off by the mountain slope still in shadow.
