In this photo of fall colors in the awesome San Juans, we can see that a storm has recently cleared off, judging by the clouds hanging to the peaks in the distance. This is the time of year when the bugle of the bull elk sends the blood racing. Few places stir the soul like the Colorado high country does.
Southwest Colorado is probably the most coveted area of the state. Fortunately for the environment there, it's a bit too rugged to support the economy that would really destroy it. So far. This photo was made in October 1981. I wonder if it still looks the same there? Let's hope so.
