A frigid early spring morning brought a spectacular golden sunrise on the Coconino Plateau in northern Arizona. Over the distant San Francisco Peaks near Flagstaff, a lenticular ("lens shaped") cloud was hovering over the summits of the Peaks. The rising sun lit up the scene with gold, while a snowmelt pond in the foreground provided a reflective mirror.
